DIRECTV Stream Gemini Troubleshooting Guide
If your DIRECTV Stream Gemini device is experiencing issues, choose one of the troubleshooting options below.
Troubleshoot Power
Try this if your device will not turn on at all.
- Make sure your TV is turned on.
- Press the Power button on the front of the device.

- If nothing happens, continue with the next step.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the device and the wall outlet.
- Securely plug both ends back in.
Heads Up
If a light switch controls the outlet, make sure it is turned on.
If you are using a power strip, confirm the strip itself is switched on.
Press the Power button on the front panel of your device again.
Test the Electrical Outlet
- Unplug the Gemini device.
- Plug another device into the outlet such as a lamp.
- If the lamp works, the issue may be with your device.
- If it does not work, reset the outlet or circuit breaker.
Restart Device
Try this option if you are experiencing poor picture quality, sound problems, or general device lag.
- Briefly press the red reset button on the side of the Gemini device.
- The device will restart automatically.
- Wait for the device to fully reboot before using it again.
Reset to Factory Settings
Use this method for serious issues such as complete signal loss or persistent device errors.
Heads Up
Factory resetting removes custom preferences, playlists, favorites, and account data.
You will need to log in again after the reset.
Gemini Device
- Press and hold the red reset button on the side of the device for 20 seconds.
- The device will reboot automatically.
- Wait for the setup screen to appear.
- Repeat the process if necessary.

Remote Not Working After Reset?
You may need to re-pair the remote. Press the Fast Forward (>>) and Rewind (<<) buttons at the same time to pair it again.
