How to Update Your DIRECTV Account Credentials
This guide walks you through updating the email address associated with your DIRECTV Stream account. Once updated, your new email address will be used for sign in and verification codes.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have access to your new email address before starting. DIRECTV will send verification codes to that email during the update process.
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Open Account Information
From your DIRECTV account dashboard, click Account Information.
Step 2
Change the User ID
Locate the User ID section, then click Change.
Step 3
Enter Your New Email Address
Enter the new email address you want associated with your DIRECTV account.
You must have access to this email address because DIRECTV will send authentication codes there.
Step 4
Continue to Verification
Click Next to continue.
Step 5
Enter the Verification Code
Retrieve the verification code sent to your new email address, then enter it here.
Step 6
Confirm the Change
Click Next to confirm your updated email address.
Step 7
Return to Sign In
Click Go to Sign In to continue.
Step 8
Choose Where You Want to Sign In
You will be redirected to the DIRECTV landing page. In the top right corner, click Sign In, then choose where you want to go.

Sign In with Your New Email Address
Enter your new email address to log in.
Step 10
Continue Sign In
Click Next.
