Setting Up Your TP-Link AC1200 Wi-Fi Route

This step-by-step guide will walk you through the quick and easy setup of your TP-Link AC1200 Wi-Fi router. From unboxing to connecting your devices, you’ll be up and running in minutes. Follow along to get connected and enjoy a seamless internet experience!



Unboxing Your Router

Inside the box, you’ll find:


1 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router


1 Ethernet Cable


1 Power Plug


1. Connect the Ethernet Cable

Plug one end of the ethernet cable into the blue “WAN” port on your router.

2. Connect the Power Cable

Insert the power cable into the round power input on your router.

3. Plug into a Power and Internet Source

Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet, and connect the other end of the ethernet cable to the wall port.

4. Press the Power Button

Locate the power button near the power input and press it to turn on the router.

5. Wait for the Router to Boot Up

Allow up to 5 minutes for the router to start. The lights on the front will turn green when it’s ready.

6. Locate Wi-Fi Name and Password

Your router is now ready. On the back of the device, you’ll find two Wi-Fi names (SSIDs): one for 5G and one for standard Wi-Fi. Please use only the standard Wi-Fi SSID and ignore the 5G SSID for this setup.

In the reference image below, the correct Wi-Fi name (SSID) is circled in orange, and the password is circled in purple. Use these to connect your device to the internet.

You can also connect wired devices, like a computer, TV, or gaming console, by plugging an ethernet cable into one of the orange “LAN” ports on your router.
